Hubilo is providing the organizers with a feature to embed an app of their choice in the Event secondary menu and Session secondary menu.
The option to embed the app(custom) in the secondary menu is going to be triggered from the Integrations section. The feature is available for both web and mobile app.
Page Content:
Steps to Enable Embed Custom Apps are as follows:
Step 1: In Dashboard > Click on 'Integration' > Go to 'Custom Apps' > Click on 'Embed your App'
Step 2: Click on the 'Enable Now' option. Once done it would look as below:
Step 3: You can enable/disable the Integration.
Note: This option will only activate the 'Embed your App' functionality in the modules, and these will have to be configured for each event and each module where the app needs to be embedded. I.e It may be turned on or off for each Session's or Event's secondary menu.
Once enabled, the option to 'Embed your App' is displayed in the secondary menu in Events and Sessions.
In the Sessions Tab:
Once the above steps are done, you can save it and head to the Sessions > Select particular Session > Go to 'Engagements'
You can click on 'Add Integration' and select 'Embed your own app' if you would like to integrate a new app.
Set the below details:
App Icon: By default, a custom icon will be shown, this can be changed using the preset icons that are provided.
App Name: The name of the application can be changed to the app that is being embedded.
Embed Code: The embed code(Iframe) will be added here.
Click 'Add'
Background Mode:
Organizers can now enable the background mode toggle for an embedded app which will allow the app to run continuously in the background, once the attendee starts it.
-
In case of Interpretation apps like Interprefy, attendees will be able to continuously listen to the translated audio even with the side panel closed.
-
In case of other apps with background mode enabled, attendees will be able to continue from where they left off without having to restart the journey again or configure any settings again.
Notes:
-
Background mode can be enabled only for one app at a time for each session. You will receive the following pop - up if you try to enable the background mode for more than one app per session.
-
If background mode is enabled for an app, then on the platform, an active animation (Green ripple) will be shown on the embedded app tab on the side panel whenever attendee is in the session to denote the same.
-
Background mode enabled app will not work in PIP mode.
When the attendees try to move to another section of the event the session will run in PIP mode. Here they will be shown an alert confirmation popup. This is to take confirmation as the background mode enabled app will not work in PIP mode.
Few examples of the apps are shown below:
